Minimum Qualifications Strictly adhered to based on Civil Service requirements | Minimum Qualifications for candidates eligible for provisional appointment: Promotion: Must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows: Either A. Fish Culturist 4; Or B. Fish Culturist 3 or Biologist 1 (Aquatic). Open-competitive: Bachelors or higher-level degree in one of the following fields: aquaculture, aquaculture engineering, freshwater ecology, fisheries, limnology, or mariculture AND three years of fish culture experience, including at least two years of experience as a hatchery manager, assistant hatchery manager or aquatic biologist, which must have included responsibility for preparing budgets, planning and directing hatchery operations, and supervising personnel. |
