Minimum Qualifications Strictly adhered to based on Civil Service requirements | Minimum Qualifications for provisional appointment: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as follows: Environmental Engineering Technician 2, Senior Drafting Technician (General), Assistant Land Surveyor 2, Electronic Equipment Mechanic, Senior Laboratory Technician, or Cartographic Technician 3. Reassignment - Currently in the title and an employee of DEC or Eligible for transfer under Section 70.1: Permanent competitive service as a Principal Engineering Technician. Open competitive minimum qualifications:
* For the purposes of these examinations, "Qualifying Experience" is defined as: engineering technician work in aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, or sanitary engineering technology; environmental technology; or as a surveyor or a drafter. ** Courses in the social sciences do not meet the specialized credit hour requirement for these examinations. |
