1. On 5/19/21, NYSDEC's P2 Unit's HWRP team and The NYS Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) presented a 1-hour webinar. It provides an overview and refresher of the HWRP program which includes an update and a presentation of two case studies by NYSP2I. 2. On May 13, 2020. NYSDEC's P2 Unit's HWRP team and staff from the RCRA Compliance and Technical Support Section conducted a joint webinar on the HWRP refresher and updates to FedReg 5 and FedReg 6 under RCRA.

3. NYSDEC and The NYS Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) presented a 1-hour webinar on May 21, 2019 and the link to the recording is below. NYSP2I present case studies involving hazardous waste reductions at facilities that generate hazardous waste. DEC provides an overview and program updates of the Hazardous Waste Reduction Planning Program.

The fillable forms are optional templates created to help your facility meet the requirements of the regulations. Please note that you must download and save the forms/tables before filling them out.

1. Hazardous Waste Reduction Plan Fillable Form (PDF, 1.83 MB) - Please use this PDF form to complete your initial Hazardous Waste Reduction Plan. Save the form to your computer prior to filling it out. Once it's completed, email it to [email protected] .
2. Annual Status Report Fillable Form (PDF, 474 KB) - Please use this PDF form when you need to complete your Annual Status Report (ASR). Save the form to your computer prior to filling it out. Once it's completed, email it to [email protected] .
3. Biennial Update Fillable Form (PDF, 1.58 MB) - Please use this PDF form when you need to complete your Biennial Update (BU). Save the form to your computer prior to filling it out. Once it's completed, email it to [email protected] .
4. Tables 1 and 2 - This is an excel document which you can use to submit your tables along with your HWRP, ASR or BU. Note: These tables are included within the fillable forms noted in items 1 - 3. You may use this document if you are submitting a HWRP, ASR or BU without using the fillable forms.
5. Tables 1 and 2 with ‘Correlation  Column’ – This excel document can be used when facilities are combining waste streams from their Annual Hazardous Waste Report in RCRAInfo. The ‘Correlation Column’ is used to demonstrate which GM pages are being referenced and facilitates a timelier review process. You may use this document if you are submitting a HWRP, ASR or BU without using the fillable forms.

NYS Pollution Prevention Institute

The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) has worked with numerous companies throughout NY state to assist them in reducing their generation of hazardous waste. Several case studies and promising technologies may be found in their searchable database.
