Participate in a free beginner's fishing clinic hosted by NYSDEC at the annual Fall Family Festival at McDonald Pond in Hempstead Lake State Park, West Hempstead, Nassau County on Saturday, 10/19 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. In addition to casting a rod and catching fish, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics, aquatic ecology, and more! No freshwater fishing license is required, and all equipment and bait will be provided for free during the event.
