Participate in a free beginner's fishing clinic hosted by NYSDEC at Connetquot River State Park in Oakdale, Suffolk County on Saturday, 9/14 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Instruction will include fly-casting and fly-fishing education with a hands-on experience. In addition to casting a rod and catching fish, participants can learn about fish identification, fishing equipment and techniques, fisheries management, angling ethics, aquatic ecology, and more! No freshwater fishing license is required, and all equipment and bait will be provided for free during the event.
