The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) will be holding a virtual stakeholder meeting to obtain input on potential changes to current pesticides regulations on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 9:30 am. The DEC is considering changes to the entire series of pesticides regulations contained in Parts 320 through 329. Additionally, the DEC will be proposing new regulations for the Birds and Bees Protection Act, ECL 33-1301(13).
The DEC will be providing information about potential changes to the regulations, including a brief summary of the revisions to the Federal Certification of Pesticide Applicators rule that was finalized by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), effective March 6, 2017. There will also be information presented pertaining to the treated seed portion of the Birds and Bees Protection Act.
Stakeholders are encouraged to take this opportunity to hear about the revisions, express views, and provide input on proposed regulation revisions and the development of a Birds and Bees Protection Act waiver process. Please note that there will not be a Q&A session at this event; all questions can be directed to the email listed below. The DEC will be holding this statewide meeting virtually through Webex.
