The Hudson River Estuary offers exceptional opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment. As water quality has improved over the past 50 years, demand for river access has risen accordingly. Today, there are more than 100 Hudson River Estuary public access sites from New York City to Troy. There are ongoing needs to create new access in underserved areas, as well as improve, expand accessibility, and increase the climate resilience of existing access sites.
This webinar will share funding opportunities to create and improve public recreation access to the Hudson River Estuary. Program representatives from New York State Parks, Department of State, Hudson River Valley Greenway, and the DEC Hudson River Estuary Program will provide an overview of different funding programs for public parks, trails, boat launches, and swimming areas. Presenters will share examples of prior funded projects along the estuary and provide opportunities for Q&A.
