Part 38 Public Hearing
This is the public comment hearing for a proposed rulemaking for amendments to 6 NYCRR Parts 40, 43, 44, 50 and 38. This rule proposes to: consolidate reporting requirements for fishing and purchasing activities by fishermen and seafood dealers; require the use of electronic vessel tracking devices in the lobster and Jonah crab fisheries in federal waters; require Party and Charter Boat License holders to submit vessel trip reports online within 48 hours of the end of the fishing trip; and amend the Division of Marine Resources (DMR) Headquarters location to its new location in all DMR regulations. Any person wishing to provide a public statement must register in advance of the hearing no later than 10:00 a.m. February 20th, 2024.
