The Hudson River estuary watershed includes the land area and numerous tributary streams and rivers that drain into the estuary, providing essential fresh water, sediments, nutrients, and habitat.
The Hudson River Estuary Program’s Watershed Team supports watershed groups, municipalities, nonprofits, landowners, and other partners to protect and restore streams and rivers through watershed-based planning, stewardship, and management of local water resources. Our goal is to maintain and improve tributary health and habitat connectivity to deliver high-quality fresh water to the estuary and drinking water sources.
