- Project Description:
The Applicant is proposing to modify the existing Part 360 Solid Waste permit to authorize the addition of a food scraps composting system. The proposed Food Scraps Composting System is designed to handle up to 15,000 cubic yards of feedstock per year, 5,000 cubic yards of Source Separated Organics and 10,000 cubic yards of yard trimmings. The facility will continue to operate a transfer station to accept Municipal Solid Waste and Construction and Demolition Debris from residential, commercial, and institutional sources; the residential drop-off area to accept household solid waste and recyclables from residential sources; and recycling handling facility for source separated recyclables. The proposed modification is located at Orange County Transfer Station No. 1 (New Hampton), located in the Town of Goshen, Orange County.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.
