Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing
Orange County - The Town of Cornwall Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Treetop Planned Industrial Development Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on January 17th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Cornwall Centrall High School, 10 Dragon Drive, New Windsor, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until January 27th, 2024. The Draft EIS is available from Cornwall Town Hall, Building Department at 183 Main Street, Cornwall, NY 12518 and on line at: www.cornwalllogistics.com.
The action involves project site is approximately 197.7‐acre parcel in the Planned Commercial Development (PCD) Zoning District with a portion in the Highway Commercial (HC) Zoning District. The Applicant proposes to develop five warehouse buildings totaling approximately 1,726,106 square feet in gross floor area. The Project includes two access points along US Route 9W along with associated parking, loading, driveways, storm water management facilities, lighting, landscaping and other related site improvements. The Project will be served by municipal water and sewer services. Utility lines are proposed to be extended to the Project Site. Treetop has petitioned the Town Board per Zoning Code Section 158-43 to amend the Zoning Map to re-map the entire Site within the PCD zoning district, and to amend the zoning code to adjust the maximum height allowed for the proposed warehouse buildings to 50 feet. The project is located 2615 US Route 9W, Cornwall New York.
