The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has issued the Final 2020/2022 New York State Section 303(d) List of Impaired Waters Requiring a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) (2020/2022 List) and the Response to Public Comments on the Draft 2020/2022 NYS Section 303(d) List of Impaired Waters Requiring a TMDL (Response to Public Comments).

Background
This 2020/2022 List identifies waters which do not meet applicable water quality standards and do not support applicable best uses, thereby requiring a TMDL. NYS DEC issued the Draft 2020/2022 New York State Section 303(d) List of Impaired Waters Requiring a TMDL for a 59 day public comment period from December 29, 2021, through February 25, 2022.
