DEC Announces Temporary Closure of Road at Sugar Hill State Forest

Brief Closure Allows for Road Maintenance of North End of Maple Lane

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is closing the north end of Maple Lane, a forest access road to Sugar Hill State Forest, located in the town of Orange, Schuyler County. Crews will be putting down gravel and grading the road in preparation of a timber sale harvest later this year. Outdoor recreationists are advised to detour on County Route 21 and Sugar Hill Road until the north end of Maple Lane reopens later this week.
