New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Bureau of Fisheries biologists and managers will conduct two public meetings hosted by DEC partners on Tuesday, June 4, in Henderson, Jefferson County, and Wednesday, July 17, in Mexico, Oswego County. The annual meetings will highlight Lake Ontario sport fisheries and discuss with anglers a wide array of management actions and research taking place on the lake and its tributaries.
“These informative meetings provide an opportunity for the public to learn about DEC’s adaptive approach to ensuring Lake Ontario fishery efforts remain robust and productive,” DEC Interim Commissioner Sean Mahar said. “Angler feedback is critical to DEC’s management approach and all anglers and outdoor enthusiasts interested in Lake Ontario are encouraged to attend.”
