The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Division of Operations and volunteers from Team Rubicon today announced plans to remove hazardous trees at Braddock Bay Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and open narrow trail sections to improve public access and safety.
On March 21 and March 28, 2026, the Cranberry Pond Trail and the Owl Woods/Rose Marsh trail at Manitou Beach Road in the Town of Greece, Monroe County, will be closed to allow for completion of the project.
Team Rubicon is a veteran-led humanitarian organization. The international not-for-profit disaster response organization maintains a roster of approximately 200,000 volunteers able to deploy throughout the United States and the world. In New York State, Team Rubicon has approximately 7,600 volunteers and partners with DEC on trail and habitat improvement projects throughout the state.
