Fishing:
The most common gamefish in Butterfield Lake are northern pike and largemouth bass. Largemouth bass up to 20 inches are taken fairly regularly. Smallmouth bass reach a similar size but are less common. Northern pike up to 30 inches and yellow perch up to 12 inches provide good ice fishing and early spring action. More than 300,000 walleye fry are stocked annually. Walleye are present in the lake but are not common.
