The 2,433-acre Dunkin's Reserve State Forest consists of seven separate parcels. The largest of these parcels southern edge abuts General Leroy Manor Road, which is the only public access point for the parcel. Two of the other parcels included in the Dunkin's Reserve are generally known as the Purdy Road parcels due to their proximity and access from Purdy Road. Another parcel straddles Davis Road. The "T" shaped parcel is located in a small development in Beekmantown and accessed by Spring Run Road. The 2 smallest parcels have no public access. There are no maintained trails in this unit but non-motorized recreation is allowed.

There are no designated parking areas on Dunkin's Reserve State Forest. Roadside parking is available.

Rules, Regulations and Outdoor Safety

Practice Leave No Trace Principles when recreating on state land to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, minimize impact on the natural resources and avoid conflicts with other users.

All users of Dunkin's Reserve State Forest must follow all State Land Use Regulations and should follow all Outdoor Safety Practices for the safety of the user and protection of the resource.

Specific Rules

Hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are allowed within the property but there are no designated trails or maintained areas for these activities.

Planning and Management

DEC is developing a management plan which will describe the management activities for these lands. In addition to management objectives, the UMP will contain detailed information on natural features, recreational infrastructure, geology, natural and human history, habitats, wildlife, fisheries and much more.
