Aquatic Plant Life:
The lake is very shallow with extensive beds of submersed, floating, and emergent aquatic vegetation. The nuisance invasive submergent Eurasian Watermilfoil and Curly-leaf Pondweed have been found in the lake.
Access:
Shoreline access within Monroe County's Durand Eastman Park on Lakeshore Boulevard.
Fish Species:
Northern Pike, Brown Bullhead, Pumpkinseed, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie.
Fishing:
There is Sunfish fishing through the ice when safe ice develops. Largemouth Bass, Sunfish, and Black Crappie can be caught during the open water season. A spinnerbait or stickbait, like a rapala, works well in shallow weedy water, for the gamefish. For the panfish try worms fished under a bobber or small plastic tube baits or twister tails.

Ice Fishing is permitted on Durand Lake.
