Located just 1/4 mile south of the Village of Lake George, a popular summertime resort. It is near Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Parkway, which offers many spectacular views of the surrounding area. The campground is close to many historical locations. Many campers visit the Battleground to view the remains of the numerous military activities that took place on and around the campground location during the colonial period. Battleground campground is near a self guided historical interpretive path with educational information at the Battlefield Park. A short walk to the Lake George Beach for swimming and sun bathing is also a very popular activity. Shopping and theme parks are also very close by.
