Access:
DEC launch is located off Route 86, in the Village of Lake Placid on Mirror Lake Drive. The hard surface ramp has a boarding dock and parking for 25 cars and trailers. Accessible for persons with disabilities.

Fish Species:
Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Rock Bass, Yellow Perch, Brown Bullhead, Pumpkinseed
Fishing:
Much of the lake is over 40 feet deep with two deep basins. Trolling for lake trout works well. Fly fishing for rainbow trout during hatches can be good. Brook trout are also present in the lake and near the inlet streams. Smallmouth bass fishing is good along the rocky shoreline.
Ice Fishing:
Prohibited.
Fisheries Management:
Lake Placid is stocked annually with rainbow trout. The lake has a naturally reproducing population of lake trout and once produced the state record lake trout. The trout feed primarily on mysid (shrimp-like crustacean) and then switch to a fish diet as larger adults.
