Lewey Lake is located 14 miles north of the Village of Speculator. This lake supports both warm and cold water fish. Anglers also have the opportunity to catch wild brook trout when fishing in the Miami River, which empties into the south end of Lewey Lake.

Access:
There is a boat launch at DEC's Lewey Lake Campground off of Route 30. This is a beach launch with parking for 15 cars and trailers. This is a shallow launch and should be used for smaller boats. In addition, the campground is located on the lake and shore fishing is possible.

Fish Species:
Smallmouth bass, lake whitefish, northern pike, lake trout, brown bullhead, yellow perch, pumpkinseed, rock bass, brook trout, brown trout, and landlocked salmon.
Fishing:
Anglers have reported catching large size pike around the big weed bed at the southern end of the lake where the Miami River enters the lake. Brook trout, brown trout, and landlocked salmon are occasionally caught, especially in winter. These fish are strays from stocking efforts in nearby Indian Lake and the Jessup River. To catch browns and lake trout, the greatest success would be fishing the deep lake pockets.
