Amenities

173 tent and trailer sites; hot showers; flush toilets; trailer dump station; recycling center; picnic area with tables, fireplaces, and charcoal grills; picnic pavilion rental; 22 horse paddocks; 2 covered standing stalls; rowboats; canoes; kayaks. *Please note that for patrons at Luzerne proof of current negative Coggins certificate is required for all horses entering the campground. Out-of-state horse owners will be required to produce a 30-day health certificate. Patrons must carry each horses health papers with them at all times. Patrons will be responsible for the cleaning of their stalls and paddocks during their stay and before their departure. In addition, only campers with horses will be permitted to camp in the horse area on holiday weekends. Campers without horses booking this area during these times may have their reservation canceled upon arrival to the facility.

Planning and Management

The Final Unit Management Plan (UMP) for the campground guides the DEC's land management activities at this facility for a five-year period, although a number of goals and objectives in the plan focus on a much longer time period. The UMP addresses specific objectives and actions for public use at this facility.

Area Attractions

Nature lovers will find boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, tubing and mountain climbing. Shoppers will enjoy the outlet malls, and everyone can enjoy the restaurants, theme parks, theaters, and historic sites.

Historic Interest

Construction was started in 1966 and the campground with 167 sites was opened in the year 1967. For public use seven (7) additional sites in horse area opened in 1987 bringing present campground total to 174 sites. Campground is located on Fourth Lake which covers approximately 51 acres. No motor boats are allowed on this lake.

Our campgrounds become an outdoor classroom for young children (5-13) and their families. Enjoy games and activities to earn a beautiful embroidered patch.
