Macomb State Forest was once part of a federal reservation where the 26th infantry troops trained during World War II. It is now used for recreation with more than 5 miles of forest roads, multiple-use trails, and snowmobile trails. This 1000-acre state forest is located a few miles west of Schuyler Falls, and adjoins the northern boundary of Macomb Reservation State Park.
