The 104-acre Painter Hill Multiple Use Area has no developed facilities except an unpaved parking lot. Hunting, trapping, hiking and snowshoeing are allowed on the property; however there are no developed or marked trails.

Hunting is allowed during appropriate seasons. White-tailed deer and black bears are popular game species in the area. Many species of small game and furbearers are also found in the area and surrounding landscape. Turkeys, grouse, squirrels, beaver, fox and coyote are just a few of the game species available for hunters, trappers and wildlife enthusiasts.

All users of Painter Hill Multiple Use Area must follow all State Land Use Regulations and should follow all Outdoor Safety Practices for the safety of the user and protection of the resource.

Specific Rules

Hiking and snowshoeing are allowed; however there are no designated or marked trails on the property.

Planning and Management

DEC is developing a recreation management plan which will describe the management activities for public recreation on these lands.
