Fish Species:
Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Tiger Muskellunge, Northern Pike, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Yellow Perch
Fishing:
Payne Lake provides a notable largemouth bass fishery. Largemouth bass are abundant, and fish up to 20 inches are taken regularly. The lake also supports a targeted tiger muskellunge fishery, with fish up to 33 inches reported. Payne Lake is stocked with walleye fry or small fingerlings. Walleye are present in the lake, but are uncommon.
Ice Fishing:
Permitted. Northern pike and panfish provide a good ice fishing experience.
