Rio Reservoir offers some great fishing opportunities. The remains of an old bridge offers good structure for bass fishing. Anglers also report catching occasional brown trout and walleye. While fishing keep your eyes open for bald eagles (this is prime eagle-viewing country).

NYS DEC boat launch off of Old Plank Rd. Parking for 15 cars and trailers, open April 1st to November 30th. Hand launch located off of Rio Dam Rd with parking for 10 cars. No gas motors allowed. No ice fishing allowed (Eagle habitat).
