The Rondout Creek above the Eddyville Dam is a slow moving river that is a tributary to the Hudson River. This portion of the Rondout is perfect for a small boat and offers good fishing for bass, walleye and panfish.
Access:
Gravel ramp boat launch is located off of Creek Locks Road, off Route 213, 3/4 mile south of Eddyville. Parking for 5 cars and trailers.

Fish Species:
Smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, panfish.
Fishing:
Walleye were first stocked in 1999. Our fisheries surveys have shown good growth rates and have documented fish up to 22". Anglers have had success catching walleyes using bright colored jigs tipped with a nightcrawler or minnow fished on the bottom. Trolling using spoons has also been effective method for taking walleyes.
Both smallmouth and largemouth bass are present here and can provide for some good angling action. When targeting largemouth, fish around weed beds and timber using spinnerbaits and jigs. The smallmouth like to hang around the rocks, try using crayfish imitations bounced along the bottom.
