Sanford Lake is located in eastern Steuben County, north of the Village of Savona. The surrounding landscape is primarily forested with limited development.

Access:
Sanford Lake is located partially within Birdseye Hollow State Forest off Kettle Rd or Sanford Lake Recreation Area located off of Round Lake Rd. Shore access and boat launch. Electric trolling motors only.

Accessible Features
From the Sanford Lake Recreation Area Parking Area, wheelchair accessible features include the:
- Trailered boat launch with dock;
- Hand boat launch with dock and kayak slide;
- Fishing/viewing platform;
- Picnic area; and
- Portable toilet (seasonal)
The picnic area is approximately 300 feet from the parking area.

Fish Species:
Banded killifish, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, chain pickerel, common shiner, golden shiner, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed, and yellow perch.
Fishing:
The Sanford Lake fishery primarily consists of brown bullheads, bluegills, pumpkinseeds, black crappie, and largemouth bass.
