The lake runs north to south. It has an island in the center called Moffit Island. There are large weed beds and a big wetland on the south end of the lake. Private homes and cottages line the eastern shoreline.

Access:
There is a DEC boat launch off Route 374, five miles north of the Hamlet of Merrill. The launch has a hard surface ramp with parking for 25 cars and trailers. The launch is in the Chateaugay Narrows approximately one mile north of the lake. The Chateaugay Narrows are navigable.

Lake trout, landlocked salmon, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike, rainbow smelt, yellow perch, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed, and rock bass.
