Wappinger Lake located in the town of Wappingers Falls is a shallow impoundment of Wappingers Creek. Because of its size and the shallow water, small boats are recommended.

Fishing:
You will find a lot of vegetation in the shallows during the summer time. When fishing for bass, focus on using weedless baits in the shallow weed beds in the morning. As the sun starts to come up, try fishing the weedlines on the north and south ends of the lake. Panfish will also hang out around the weedlines. Try using road runner jigs for catching yellow perch and black crappies.
