Duties/Responsibilities | |
Minimum Qualifications Strictly adhered to based on Civil Service requirements | Bachelor's degree in an aquaculture related field and three years of professional experience in freshwater aquaculture. Substitution: a master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience and a Ph.D.. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience. Ability to develop statistically robust experimental designs, interpret and analyze complex data, produce technical reports, and communicate technical information to diverse audiences. Knowledge in developing hatchery bio-programs, water and space requirements, and hatchery biosecurity. Experience in hatchery operations and aquaculture techniques, including intensive and extensive aquaculture and/or recirculating aquaculture systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications: coursework and/or experience in civil engineering, environmental engineering or a related field of engineering from an accredited university. Knowledge and experience with invasive species and methods for excluding or minimizing aquatic invasive species impacts (e.g., zebra mussels). Experience developing individual and system-wide hatchery plans. Experience developing and maintaining sources of hatchery water supply, such as wells and springs. Area of Specialty is Aquaculture. |
