Access For Anglers With Disabilities In Western NY
The following is a list, by county, of fishing access sites for anglers with disabilities.
Although every effort is made to keep this information current, please confirm the availability of facilities with the appropriate DEC Regional Office.
Allegany County
- Allen Lake - accessible floating pier and designated parking. Located in Town of Allen. From Belfast, cross the Genesee River (county route 26), take a left on East River Road, then a right onto East Hill Road. Take second right onto Townline Road, then first left on Muckle Road. The driveway to the lake is on the left.
- Cuba Lake - accessible boat launch and designated parking. Access road located off West Shore Road just south of Rawson Creek crossing, in the Town of Cuba.
- Genesee River (Belmont) - accessible fishing platform, pathway and designated parking. Located in the Village of Belmont on the northeast side of the Schuyler Street (Route 19) bridge.
- Genesee River (Wellsville) - accessible fishing platform, pathway and designated parking. Located at Island Park off Route 417 in the Village of Wellsville.
Cattaraugus County
- Birch Run Ponds - fishing platform off Lower Birch Run Road, Allegany, NY.
Chautauqua County
- Bear Lake - accessible canoe/kayak launch platform, paved pathway and designated parking. Located on Bear Lake Road north of the Village of Stockton.
- Chautauqua Lake
- Prendergast Point Boat Launch - accessible boat launch docks, privy and designated parking. Located on west side of lake in Town of Chautauqua. From Route 394, turn onto Prendergast Blvd.
- Chautauqua Lake Fish and Wildlife Management Area (Stow Farm) - accessible waterfowl hunting blind that can be used as fishing deck, paved pathway and designated parking. Located on west side of lake off Route 394, 0.5 mile south of I-86 intersection.
- Findley Lake - accessible canoe/kayak launch platform, fishing platform and designated parking. Located at the northern tip of the lake off Route 426/430, in the Village of Findley Lake
- Lake Erie (Dunkirk Harbor) - Due to recent damages and associated safety concerns, the DEC Dunkirk Harbor fishing platform is CLOSED until further notice. Accessible fishing platform, paved pathway and designated parking. Located in City of Dunkirk on north side of Lakeshore Drive (Route 5), across from Brigham Road.
Erie County
- Buffalo River - accessible fishing platform, pathway and designated parking. Located at 421 Ohio Street, Buffalo NY 14204 (enter site from South Street).
Wyoming County
- Wiscoy Creek - accessible fishing platform and designated parking in the Village of Pike, NY. Located off Main Street (Route 19) within the Wyoming County Fairgrounds.
