Long Island offers a variety of hunting opportunities through access to public lands as well as through cooperative hunting agreements between the county, townships, and state parks. While hunting opportunities on state property often follow those set forth for individual game species, as noted in the current Hunting & Trapping Regulations Guide, some properties may have more restrictive season dates or means of taking wildlife (e.g. archery-only). See the table below for what hunting opportunities and hunting implements are permitted on each property, as well as a brief description and hunting map for each location.
