The Garvies Point Museum and Preserve highlights geology and Native American culture of the Northeast and Long Island. The preserve consists of 62 acres of glacial moraine covered by forests, thickets, and meadows. Within the five miles of trails, there are woodlands, ponds and fields that are home to a variety of wildlife. Butterfly gardens attract diverse species of butterflies and birds.
